Since 2016, the Georgia Police K9 Foundation has been a leading voice and force in protecting Georgia’s law enforcement dogs — both active and retired. What began as a grassroots effort among K9 handlers in Statesboro has grown into a statewide mission rooted in compassion, commitment, and community.

A Vision Beyond the Present

At the heart of the Georgia Police K9 Foundation is a bold and hopeful belief: that one day, their work won’t be necessary. This isn’t a surrender — it’s a challenge to the status quo. Their ultimate goal is to ensure that every K9 unit in Georgia, whether active or retired, receives the care, equipment, and training it needs — without gaps or limitations.

Equipping Georgia’s Front Line

Through tireless volunteer efforts and generous public support, the Foundation provides vital assistance to K9s throughout the state, including:

• Protective ballistic vests and operational gear

• Emergency and routine veterinary care

• Support for retired K9s no longer covered by department funding

• Training resources and department outreach

These efforts make a tangible difference in the lives of both the dogs and the officers who rely on them.
