The organization’s founding was inspired by the tragic loss of K9 Cero, who was killed in the line of duty. His sacrifice became the catalyst for a movement — one committed to ensuring that no K9 goes unprotected.
From its humble beginnings as a division of the Barnstable Police Association to becoming an independent 501(c)(3), MA Vest-A-Dog has provided over 700 vests to local, state, and federal agencies, including:

Focused on Real Protection
A bullet-resistant K9 vest can range from $1,900 to $2,900, depending on the level of protection and tactical requirements. These vests not only stop bullets — they also guard against blunt force trauma during physical confrontations. But despite their critical role, K9 units often go without protection due to lack of funding.
Massachusetts Vest-A-Dog stepped in to fill that gap — and LOF Defence is proud to be part of that solution.
